Water-borne ink is now commonly used as package printing dyes, compared with traditional ink, it is lower cost and more environmentally friendly which makes it favored by the industry. However, with the popularization of water-borne ink, people find a more serious problem and it is the foaming problem of water-borne ink, as a result of that, the water-borne ink defoamer will play a role.
Why would water-borne ink generate foam? Due to the existence of a variety of surfactants, water-borne ink can easily produce foam when stirring; use water-borne ink in printing with too fast speed; add too much high hardness tap water which results in different surface tension, these are the causes of the foam.
 
What harms will water-borne ink foaming bring?
 
1. lead to surface defects and poor quality products
2. foam reduces production efficiency, delays production time and increases production costs
3. lead to uneven paste texture, reducing the quality of printing
4. Excessive foam may overflow the slurry tank, resulting in resources waste, it may lead to the printing machine's malfunction if it is serious situation
 
What are the requirements of water-borne ink defoamer by the manufacturer?
 
1. Good miscibility, no floating oil, demulsification and other problems.
2. fast defoaming, strong anti-foaming ability and low dosage, it  will not affect the basic properties of foaming system.
3. Good dispersity, will not appear white spot.
4. Will not react with the composition of water-borne ink, affecting the quality of water-borne ink and product quality.
5. Odorless, anti-corrosion, high temperature resistance, strong acid and alkali resistance.
